Hello SGVR PCA!
Thank you to all our members that came out to the Members Breakfast with us on Saturday! We had a record turn out – 43 members. We had some new members attend and some even join during breakfast. What a great way to start a weekend!. There are a lot of great photos you can take a look at here.

Whats App, Members Forum, Private Facebook Group, QuickClub, Email – why so many?
Each platform has a purpose….most importantly…its to keep you, our members, informed. Giving you options how you want to be communicated with.
- QuickClub – was a great starter tool but our club is growing rapidly and we need more advanced integrations that QuickClub does not support. We also had issues with events changing dates/times at random. We had people showing up to events at the wrong time and it was discovered that bugs related to QuickClub were the source of the issue. So based on these things we have begun phasing it out. Special Note: Although QuickClub is still operational we are not actively using it or monitoring it. Please be sure to post your messages, questions or create a topic on the Members Forum. Our most active members are on the forum and will be happy to answer any question and respond as quickly as possible.
- Email – this is our most direct way of communicating directly to our members. We send out two emails a week. One is a look ahead to give you time to plan….the other is just before the weekend to provide any last minute changes to your attention. Since our other channels for communication are still new, we rely on email at this time.
- Facebook Private Group – Part of our goal is to reduce the amount of email you get. Our hope is all our members join the Facebook Private Group and we can share all the important information directly through facebook. It provides us with the ability to take polls, surveys and communicate with you directly reducing the need for email. Because its private we can share more detailed information with you instead of having to refer you unnecessarily to the Member Forum each time.
- Whats App – this is still in early roll-out and its uses are evolving as our members start using it. We have unique Group (chat) rooms for drives, events and even the SGVR board. During events we can communicate with each other, share photos and make a call to a member if needed. Very handy when on a drive if we loose cell service. Whats App is not SGVR member specific. It is invitation specific so there you may find people outside of SGVR in some of the groups. Group chats will only be active shortly before and shortly after an event, then the contents of the group are deleted and photos uploaded to our SGVR flicker account.
- Members Forum – this is where all the details are posted first. Looking for pre-meet info, Whats App QR code, event registration and just conversation around whats going on that weekend, your favorite Porsche model or detailing discussions, the members forum has it. The Members Forum is strictly for registered PCA members of the SGVR. We strongly encourage all SGVR members to register. You can subscribe to a favorite topic and get notified of changes to events, registration opening and other important information as it happens. We update the forum before all other channels which could be hours or days before other, (email included).
- Motorsports Reg – SGVR PCA has decided to continue to use motorsportreg.com as our event registration platform. Many events will be “private” meaning they will not appear in the motorsportsreg.com event listing and registration links will only exist in the Members Forum. Public events such as Cars & Coffee where we need a head count will be publically viewable on Motorsportsreg.com event listings.
